Horner pleased to end Vettel rumours

Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner said he was pleased to put an early end to speculation about Sebastian Vettel's long-term future by signing him through to the end of the 2014 season. The world champion's Red Bull deal had been set to expire at the end of this year, though he had an option for 2012. AUTOSPORT revealed this morning that a contract extension had been agreed, with the team confirming the news shortly afterwards.

Yamaha confident it is catching Honda

The Yamaha riders were optimistic that they had narrowed the gap to Honda in tonight's MotoGP test at Losail, even though the timesheets still saw a Honda one-two-three at the end of the night. Reigning champion team Yamaha had been off Honda's pace at the previous two tests at Sepang, amid complaints from the riders about a lack of engine power.

When the folks at Inside Line got their hands on a 2011 Dodge Charger R/T, they decided to run a comparison test against an older Charger. No, not a last generation model - a 1969 General Lee that was actually used on the Dukes of Hazzard TV show.

The bright orange Charger was supplied by Bob Hartwig of Cinema Vehicle Services. It's one of only 17 Chargers to survive filming, and it's the only 440-equipped example to make it out unscathed. It's slower, less agile and quite outdated compared to the modern Charger, but that doesn't stop Inside Line from giving in the gold medal in this comparison.

Click past the jump to watch the two vehicles in action and listen to some insight from the General Lee's owner. Then be sure to head over to Inside Line to read about the head-to-head test.

MotoGP: Qatar Test Day Two Results

MotoGP’s last pre-season test concluded today in Qatar, as riders finished their second day of lapping around the Losail International Circuit. Conditions were colder than yesterday, and the wind made its presence known earlier in the day than before. At the start of the session, riders seemed reluctant to take to the track, but it wasn’t long before testing was underway in earnest. Once again the Hondas proved to be very fast, accounting for three ...
